Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly

At the Crown Inn we are really concerned about the state of the environment, global warming, and sustainability. To this end with a bit of creative thinking we are putting together an action plan to reduce our environmental footprint and we want to share some information with others to hopefully convince people that they too can make a difference because every little bit can REALLY help.

Recycling

We now have a bottle bank on site which we invite our customers to share with us and hopefully you may be able to stop by and have a drink at the same time.

Solar Water Heating

This is something that we are looking into and hope to install in the future. It is a very effective way of cutting down the utility bills especially in a business such as ours but more importantly it is a step towards a healthier environment.

Rainwater Harvesting

With the amount of rain that we get, like so many others we will harvest (collect) it to be reused in other areas such as the sprinkler system for the garden, hoses for general use and even to flush the toliets!
